I have always wanted to be a therapist, but as life goes, it sometimes takes you in different directions. I found my way to becoming a therapist at 50, so it’s never too late to change your life course or begin doing what’s important. After receiving my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University, I landed at Levine Cancer Institute as a psychotherapist where I developed a passion for working with cancer patients and their families. Drawing on my 13 years of experience working in an oncology setting, I learned not only how cancer can impact your life, but how illness and physical vulnerability in general can affect your emotional wellbeing and sense of safety. I am here to help individuals and family members navigate the difficulties and unique circumstances of dealing with life-altering illness and medical challenges.

While I love working in the medical realm, I’m a psychotherapist at heart. I work with many other issues and can help you feel empowered, find meaning in your life, and nurture your authentic and wonderful self. As a marriage and family therapist, I can help you find ways to interact with love and understanding to enrich your relationships. I will provide a safe holding space for the work to occur and will respect where you are at any given time during the process. Progress and growth occur through the meaningful connection between the client and therapist, and I would be truly honored to be a part of your journey.

Prior to my career as a therapist, I worked at IBM in marketing and communications and ran a small design business. I grew up in Charlotte and am part of the vibrant Greek community here. I am married to my always supportive husband of almost 40 years; I have a lovely daughter and wonderful son-in-law; I am a new grandmother to the sweetest little boy; and I am mom to my adorable, but mischievous miniature schnauzer, Zeus! I practice yoga (try to everyday) and love taking long walks. I enjoy a simple life with family and close friends.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic, attachment and somatic theories, family systems, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
